                      Tips and Hints

                      Picture
Welcome to Thailand I hope you have a terrific time here or you are about to. Thailand has a huge variety of things to make your visit memorable. Below I offer some tips and hints to try help make those memories all good ones.

                      • X Change. If you are coming from the UK buying Thai baht before you come will cost. The UK offers some of the worst rates around. You will find better rates in Thailand and your immediate needs can be met by the many bank counters in the airport.
                      • Toilets. You will find toilets fairly readily available in Thailand in the cities and major tourist attractions. Some are free (service stations, shopping malls pubs etc) and some (ie markets, bar complexes, rail and bus stations) may have a small charge (2-5 baht). You will find a mix of Thai "squat" and western "sit" toilets. There may be a hose for washing your bits after and flushing is frequently manual using the water vessel provided.
                      • Toilet paper is rarely provided once you get outside the comfort of your hotel or pub/restaurant. Rule number one applies across South East Asia. Always carry toilet paper with you!
                      • More hints and tips on the way!
